Our highly skilled crew is carefully lowering a McHugh re-manufactured 1200HP BLW engine assembly into a switcher type locomotive. This unit has already received two rebuilt 6-1/ 2"x l2" roller bearing truck assemblies with EMD type D-57 traction motors. Our service crew is at a lumber company railroad in Kentucky removing this locomotives four traction motors, air-compressor, auxiliary generator, main generator & engine, for rebuilding at our plant. The McHugh service crew is at a customer location installing a McHugh re-manufactured D-15-C main generator into a EMD 1200 HP switcher type locomotive.. A McHugh re-manufactured EMD type 12 cylinder 567-C locomotive engine loaded onto one of our tractor trailers at our plant, prior to shipment to a customer. A 20 ton G.E. mine type locomotive at our plant and ready for delivery to a customer. This re-manufactured unit included; two G.E. 733 traction motors, two traction reduction gear cases, engine assembly, new axles / wheel sets, and replacement of all wiring and electrical components. Showing several re-manufactured locomotive truck assemblies complete with traction motors at our plant. The dependable McHugh team is working in adverse weather conditions and 6" of snow to get this customers locomotive back into service. A McHugh rebuilt EMD type D-77 traction motor was installed into the front truck assembly to replace a defective unit. Now the EMD 1200 HP switcher locomotive is being lowered back onto the truck assembly. The McHugh crew re-rails a de-railed 1200 HP switcher locomotive. Once placed back on the track. The two truck assemblies will be removed due to the severe damage of them. The repairs also included replacing two / axle wheel sets, most of the brake rigging, and all 4 lower gear cases. The project was accomplished within a few days due to the fact that we had all of the necessary materials required to complete the job, in stock at our plant.
