The McHugh company has established a reputation of completing some projects that other companies said were impossible, and that just could not be done. Today, we continue to find those innovative solutions to the ever changing challenges of the industries that we serve. A example of this fact, is the McHugh company was awarded a contract to supply and deliver two complete 80 ton lift capacity AH&D 850-80DE locomotives cranes, to a obscure location in Ontario Canada. The unique problem of this customer was how do they get these two units to their new plant site which was approximately 35 miles from the nearest railroad line. However this was not a obstacle for us, because of our ingenuity and years of diversified experience. After these two locomotive cranes were completed at the McHugh plant, they were loaded onto our specialized heavy hauling tractor trailers. Then transported directly to the customers location, unloaded, assembled, and placed into operation. Another example of a customer having a different type of problem, was how to move a worn-out defective non- railroad worthy 45 ton locomotive across the United States. This defective unit was located in the south, and it needed to be shipped to a plant located in the north east. However the locomotive also had to be rebuilt, and ready to work when it arrived at it's new destination. The entire locomotive was transported by specialized heavy hauling equipment to the McHugh plant. After completion of the rebuild, the locomotive was then loaded onto our equipment, delivered, and placed into service.
